Linkin Park

Linkin Park is the name of an acclaimed musical ensemble from the US. This group was officially created in 1996 in California. Prior to their current name, they went by such names as Xero and Hybrid Theory.

As of this writing, the band is lined up as follows:

  • Joe Hahn
  • Rob Bourdon
  • Dave Farrell

The group made a huge step in their career after they released their maiden album named “Hybrid Theory”. Released in 2000, this record was a big success, featuring a number of hit singles including “Crawling” and “One Step Closer.” The album landed at number 2 and number 4 in the US and the UK.

Apart from the above-mentioned album, this collective has released several other successful projects, including “Meteora,” “Minutes to Midnight,” and “Living Things”. To note, all these records topped the UK and the US’ official album charts.

Demise of Chester Bennington

Bennington, who was a crucial member and served as the group’s lead vocalist, tragically passed away due to suicide in July of 2017.

Awards

In 2002 their song “Crawling” won Grammys’ “Best Hard Rock Performance” award, earning the band their first award from the acclaimed awarding body. Furthermore, the group’s contribution to Jay-Z’s song “Numb/Encore” earned them their second Grammy award, which they received in 2006.  The award was in the “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” category.
