“Juice WRLD DID” by DJ Khaled (ft. Juice WRLD)

As noted later in the article and made apparent practically from the jump, “Juice WRLD DID” is a song that Juice WRLD actually worked on as opposed to a piece that his vocals were added onto later. This is something that is also verified via the quality of the lyrics, as the late rapper holds down all of the vocals, and the verses do not feature repetitiveness but rather straight-up raps.

In fact, Juice seems to do more actual rapping in this song than in some of the tracks he dropped while alive.

That said, what we are dealing with here, in essence, is street-based, standard braggadocious fare. In the process of getting his points across, the vocalist relies on a number of pop media references, including namedropping fellow rappers Chief Keef and the Wu-Tang Clan, in addition to the likes of Hollywood A lister Tom Cruise and former NBA player Carlos Boozer (who once played for Juice WRLD’s hometown, Chicago).

Besides of biggin’ up DJ Khaled, the lyrics serve the purpose of buttressing the point that Juice is the man, an assertion that he swears ‘his life’ and to a Higher Power on. Or interpreted otherwise, he really means what he says. And the listener will walk away with the impression that the vocalist is basically living the life of a wild, well-paid gunslinger.

Release of “Juice WRLD DID”

DJ Khaled did not get around to dropping this track with Juice WRLD during the latter’s lifetime. However, its existence has been known, via preview, since February of 2019, when WRLD was still around. So with this track eventually being made available in full on 26 August 2022, over two years after WRLD’s passing, it is technically the first collaboration between these two hip-hop artists.

And “Juice WRLD DID” is part of “GOD DID”, which is DJ Khaled’s 13th album.

Credits

Besides for the two vocalists, the other credited writers of this song are its producers, DT and Nick Mira.
