“Lie To Me” by Queen Naija (ft. Lil Durk)

Perhaps the simplest way to describe “Lie to Me” is as it being about an open relationship the vocalists are in. Queen Naija knows that her significant other is “screwin’ up”, i.e. having sex with, other ladies. But she is confident that she’s the one he truly loves, and at the end of the day he will realize the error of his ways and commit solely to her. Also she comes off as if she herself may be dealing with other dudes.

Meanwhile Lil Durk expresses a sentiment akin to being appreciative of having that type of woman, as in one who doesn’t stress him too much, as he enjoys a free-willed lifestyle.  And the title relays the idea that they are willing to accept ‘lies’ from their romantic partners, so long as said individuals continue to love them satisfactorily.

This song can be found on Queen Naija’s debut album, which is entitled “Missunderstood”.

AD

Three producers worked together on the production of “Lie to Me”. And they are Alex Niceforo, Keith Sorrells and OAK.

The aforementioned trio are also amongst the song’s writing team – a team made up of the following:

  • Queen Naija
  • London Jae
  • Lil Durk
  • Bunny DeBarge

The reason Bunny DeBarge is acknowledged in the list above is because this track samples the 1983 DeBarge classic “A Dream”.
